Easter At Dad & Mom's

We had a wonderful Easter this year!! We went to church.......it was so great, then we had lunch and hunts at Dad and Mom's. Here are some pictures of the day, and yes the hunt was indoors due to the rain!!!! It really doesn't get any better than being with family on the day He is Risen!!! Miss you Mika.....wish ya'll would have been there!!!!!

Easter Hunt at Gruver Park

The Easter Egg hunt in Gruver is provided every year by the sorority. It alot of work to stuff soooo many eggs, but they always do it come rain, wind or shine!! This year was windy and cold. The hunt didn't last long, but all the kids had a great time!!! Here is Papa and the kids ready for some EGGS!!

Mom, KD, and myself.......freezing, but having fun!!

Maddie was visiting and missed her age group start!!! She ran over and all the eggs were gone. She wasn't sad.......and KD and Michael shared their candy with her......very proud moment for me!!

Michael filled his basket up and then immediately started on the candy!!!!!!!Thank you Alpha Mu Psi for another FUN hunt!!!!

Three Year Olds!!!! Oh My!!!

We told the kids to take a shower. Michael wanted to take a bath. We said no, they all needed to take a shower! So all they kids headed to the shower. After a while we heard laughing........when we went to see what was so funny........................................
.....we found Michael in the sink full of water. He said "What? I'm taking a bath!" Seems they always get their way!!

PSU Rodeo

Last weekend we went to Guymon for the PSU rodeo. It was a true Panhandle weather day with wind gusts of 60-70mph. We were all covered in dirt but the sun was out and we made the most of it!!!! Here are a few pictures of the Sat. afternoon performance. The evening performance was freezing and all we saw was the bareback riders, then we headed to the trailer where the kids all feel asleep!!!

Here Marty is picking-up!! It's so much fun to watch him! He is so good at it, and you can tell he really enjoys it!

Marty is in the front on this bottom picture.(I think this might have been Friday night.)

Maddie and Michael had alot of fun playing on the hill. KD was at a birthday party and didn't make it.Maddie and Michael watching on!! They love the rodeo!!

Sledding

We all survived the blizzard!! It was a long day of being locked up on Friday. We were all lazy and did absolutely nothing.........because there was nothing to do. It was fun just hanging out telling stories, and snuggling to stay warm!! Then Saturday rolled around, and the work began. Everyone was out and about putting cattle in and assessing the damaged. We actually faired very well :) The kids played in the snow all morning waiting for Marty to take them sledding! By the time he arrived most of the snow had melted. I love this first picture.........just shows how much they enjoyed sledding!! You can tell how fast the snow was melting in this photo. I'd like you all to notice the creek running in the photo..............okay, it's not a creek really, it's the cities drainage ditch!!!!
Wish you could have heard Michael in this photo. He had just fell off and he was wet, cold, and mad!!!!

It was a great weekend!! We had alot of family time, alot of fun, and FINALLY some moisture!!

Sorting Cattle

Finally, we are on spring break and the kids are able to help their Dad!! The love to go with him and ride. This morning Maddie went with Marty, so I took them lunch so KD and Michael could go for awhile. While we were there, we manage to get my grandmother to pose for a picture in front of the UT truck. Yes, my Dad is a Longhorn, and grandma is OU all the way. She even took a ride in the truck!!!!!!!
Here everyone is taking a break for lunch.

Michael looked on while the cattle loaded into the truck. I thought this was a great picture of him and it even has the wind generators in the back.
KD and Maddie enjoyed riding the horse around!!!!!
And here they are, the little helpers, with their sorting sticks.

2009 Ski Trip

Well, our ski trip was a little different this year. We took all three kids. We had a great time, and the kids are great at skiing!!!!!!!! There was a lot of snow at the cabin, and they hadn't cleared the road. It was interesting getting all our clothes, groceries, and kids to the cabin. But we managed, and by the time we left were really good at it. Oh, and on the last day, they did manage to clear the road!!!!! Here the kids are ready after a day of skiing!! The girls are able to go to the top and ski down with Marty and I, so it was a lot of fun.

Here is one of the girls waiting on us to go down the bunny slope............we had Michael with us on this run!!!!! And one of Marty and Michael. Michael was so cute in all his gear, and tiny boots!!!!!!!!!!!!

Marty & Michael on the chair lift......all he wanted to do was ride the ride!!
This is one of the pictures going up to the cabin. We put the luggage and groceries on the sled. The girls walked, and Michael rode on my shoulders. The snow was up to our waists. Once the snowmobilers clear a path we could walk without sinking. By the end of the trip we had a good path and let the kids ride on the sled while we pulled them. Not a situation I would recommend, but we made the best of it!!!!!!!!! Since this trip Dad and Mom have purchased snowmobiles to get in and out on!!!!!!!!!!! YEAHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!

Stock Show pictures............

Yes, I know I am way behind! Maybe I can catch up since it is now SPRING BREAK.........even though it feels like WINTER BREAK!!!!!! The stock show went well, both girls learned alot. KD kept track of her expenses and got to see exactly how much she will make after she pays her parents back. She did so well, I might need to ask her for a loan. She ended up placing seventh in her class, but her lamb was the second highest selling that night.......people are so generous!!
Here is a pic. of her at the sale.....with that smile, she knew exactly what she was doing!
Here are Maddie & KD with their lambs. Maddie will show next year.
And here are all 3 kids at the sale. Right after this photo we had to say goodbye.......KD had a tough time. She still says she will cry if she looks at the pictures I took. She is such a lover!!
The animals were a great experience, and I know they will want to do it all over next year!!

Inspirations

I saw this and thought I would share:

"....We are all dreaming of some magical rose
garden over the horizon instead of enjoying
the roses blooming outside our windows today."
Dale Carnegie

Horses

Maddie and Marty rode yesterday afternoon. Maddie rode Patches, and Marty worked on his newest project, Mongoose!!! This horse has come along way and Marty is really doing well with him. He is really good with horses, and loves working with them. All the kids love to go riding with him. It is usually a fight to see who will ride with him. Michael was sleeping, and KD was in sick, so Maddie won an easy war yesterday.

Basketball Camp

Maddie and KD are going to basketball camp at PSU. They go on the weekends. This was the second weekend of camp, but our first to attend. Michael had the flu last weekend and KD has been really sick this weekend. Maddie went and had a wonderful time. The boys basketball team is in charge, so it was fun seeing all the college boys working with the kids............very cute!! I was really impressed with how smooth it was ran, and everything Maddie learned on the first day. Her favorite part was defense. Michael's favorite part was running back and forth from the bathroom.........I bet he went to the bathroom 15 times in 2 hours!!!!!!! At least he is going now.......he is doing great with the training.....he doesn't even have any accidents in his pants!!!!!!!!! Yea -- NO MORE DIAPERS/PULL-UPS!!!!!!!! Maddie is in the front at the block.
Ball handling drills-Maddie is the one at the front of the pic.

For those of you who have never been to PSU-and that have-it has really changed. They have added so much and its super nice. The Noble center is where the camp is held. It has two courts with a walking track, two racket ball courts, a swimming pool, huge weight room, and so much more!!!!!! It was very exciting to see all the changes!!!

The Creek is Full!!!!

These are pictures of the creek behind our house. From last Saturday to Monday evening it had rained around 6 inches everywhere!!!!!! We have lived in this house over 6 years, and I have only seen the creek like this one other time. I was standing by our back yard when I took the pictures.

Muddy Pumpkin Picking

On Saturday morning we went and met Marty's Grandma Nan and Aunt Nanelle in Etter at the Pumpkin Patch. This was the start of our 4+ inches of rain. We were all wet and muddy, but that just made it even more fun!!!!!!!!!!!!
KD, Gwenee, and Maddie
1,2,3, JUMP!!!!!!!!! The kids had so much fun jumping into the corn. If you haven't been to pick your own pumpkin, you need to go. It was a fun day, and the pumkins are great--all different varieties. My mom saw mine and a trip is planned to go back when it dries up a little.

Grandad's 78th

On Friday night my family went to my Aunt TC's house in Borger to celebrate my grandad's 78th birthday!!!!!!! I have a wonderful family, and anytime we get together it's always a good time-----but especially when you're celebrating a grandad's birthday!! I hope I am lucky enough to see my grandchildren have children and, I hope I can be as great a role model to them as he is to me and my children.KD(on the right)with her favorite cousin Gwenee!!
