Inspirations

I saw this and thought I would share:

"....We are all dreaming of some magical rose
garden over the horizon instead of enjoying
the roses blooming outside our windows today."
Dale Carnegie

Horses

Maddie and Marty rode yesterday afternoon. Maddie rode Patches, and Marty worked on his newest project, Mongoose!!! This horse has come along way and Marty is really doing well with him. He is really good with horses, and loves working with them. All the kids love to go riding with him. It is usually a fight to see who will ride with him. Michael was sleeping, and KD was in sick, so Maddie won an easy war yesterday.

Basketball Camp

Maddie and KD are going to basketball camp at PSU. They go on the weekends. This was the second weekend of camp, but our first to attend. Michael had the flu last weekend and KD has been really sick this weekend. Maddie went and had a wonderful time. The boys basketball team is in charge, so it was fun seeing all the college boys working with the kids............very cute!! I was really impressed with how smooth it was ran, and everything Maddie learned on the first day. Her favorite part was defense. Michael's favorite part was running back and forth from the bathroom.........I bet he went to the bathroom 15 times in 2 hours!!!!!!! At least he is going now.......he is doing great with the training.....he doesn't even have any accidents in his pants!!!!!!!!! Yea -- NO MORE DIAPERS/PULL-UPS!!!!!!!! Maddie is in the front at the block.
Ball handling drills-Maddie is the one at the front of the pic.

For those of you who have never been to PSU-and that have-it has really changed. They have added so much and its super nice. The Noble center is where the camp is held. It has two courts with a walking track, two racket ball courts, a swimming pool, huge weight room, and so much more!!!!!! It was very exciting to see all the changes!!!

The Creek is Full!!!!

These are pictures of the creek behind our house. From last Saturday to Monday evening it had rained around 6 inches everywhere!!!!!! We have lived in this house over 6 years, and I have only seen the creek like this one other time. I was standing by our back yard when I took the pictures.

Muddy Pumpkin Picking

On Saturday morning we went and met Marty's Grandma Nan and Aunt Nanelle in Etter at the Pumpkin Patch. This was the start of our 4+ inches of rain. We were all wet and muddy, but that just made it even more fun!!!!!!!!!!!!
KD, Gwenee, and Maddie
1,2,3, JUMP!!!!!!!!! The kids had so much fun jumping into the corn. If you haven't been to pick your own pumpkin, you need to go. It was a fun day, and the pumkins are great--all different varieties. My mom saw mine and a trip is planned to go back when it dries up a little.

Grandad's 78th

On Friday night my family went to my Aunt TC's house in Borger to celebrate my grandad's 78th birthday!!!!!!! I have a wonderful family, and anytime we get together it's always a good time-----but especially when you're celebrating a grandad's birthday!! I hope I am lucky enough to see my grandchildren have children and, I hope I can be as great a role model to them as he is to me and my children.KD(on the right)with her favorite cousin Gwenee!!

Flu Season

Well it's that time of year.............and we have already been hit!!!!!!! Michael has the flu. He has been sick part of last week and through the weekend. Never seems well in the morning, then he gets some liquids and food and seems alot better. I'm wondering who will be the next victim. Maddie already tried...........she did manage to get out of church Sunday morning. I was home with Michael and Nana took the girls with her to church. Nana called saying she was in the car with Maddie and she didn't feel well. Marty went and picked her up so Nana could go back into church with KD. I could tell when Maddie got home she was pulling a fast one..............Nana was never that easy when we were young!!!!!!!!!!!

We're Still Here!!!!!!

Michael started gymnastics!!!! He loves to go run up and down the long trampoline!! His class is all boys---Bless his teacher!!!!!!!!!!!!!
On the way home from church Sunday, Marty asked the kids and I to go by and check a sprinkler. While we were leaving I could see this huge rattle snake on the road. We stopped and killed it. I kept calling Marty trying to explain how big he was--he didn't really believe me until i brought home this rattler--his exact words "Holy @#$*!!" This picture just doesn't do justice!! I took a picture on my cell phone--I'll try to post it later, if its any good!!
The girls have a new place to hang out--well, it's in the works. They were helping go through junk and decided to clean the storage building in the back yard out. It will be their new club house!! I took a picture of KD and her friend Klaire in front of it, and watching TV inside--Maddie was at a birthday party with her friends!

Rocket Slide Park

Sunday after church we went to the rocket slide park in Spearman. We, as kids, used to love to go there and play. It's called this because......well, isn't it obvious.
THE ROCKET SLIDE Buster and Marty swing Pratt and Michael
They had the merry go round going so fast---we were betting on who would fly off first. I wish I had gotten a picture of Maddie holding on to the bar and her whole body was horizontal.

Finally Friday!!!!!!!!

I don't know about the rest of you, but you can definitely tell when it is getting close to Friday around here. Usually by Wed. evening, or Thursday my kids start getting really tired and whining alot!!!! Maddie was so excited because she was able to bring a book home from school and read it to Marty and I. She loves showing people how she can read. KD has figured out that school will get more difficult in the third grade. She has always breezed through, and now she really has to think on her homework. I'm not sure how she will react when she brings home a paper that is not a 100---since she began kinder. she has had nothing but 100s.
G-Pa and Granny (Allen/Janice McCloy) came up last night. The kids had fun showing off and acting wild. They have a rodeo in Trinidad, CO this weekend. It's been a family rodeo for many years, so I know it will be a good one!!!!!
Mom helped me with Michael yesterday while I mowed........our mower is ready for winter........took me all day yesterday, and I am still not done--pray it starts this morning!!!!!!!!
For those of you who haven't checked out the FAMILY & FRIENDS on your right of the blog--DO, there are some really cute kids in those blogs............Have a FANTASTIC FRIDAY :)

First Day of School

KD and Maddie started school Monday(yesterday). I was in Amarillo all day, so I am just now posting the pictures. Maddie the top picture with her teacher Mrs. Holland. Maddie is in the first grade and is super excited because Bailey and Hunter are in her class. She loves to learn and has so much energy.
KD is on the left with Mrs. King. She is in the 3rd grade and is happy because Mrs. King is a good friend. We will see if KD can keep from calling her by her first name.
I am so glad that my kids enjoy going to school and learning!!!!!!!!! Today it is very quiet at the house....too quiet.....almost!

Friends--Cousins.....

Last week Pratt and Halle came to play. Everything worked out great because Maddie had her friend Bailey over. The girls entertained Halle, and the boys......well they entertained us all!!! I love this pic of Halle...almost as though she is taking the pic of herself. Maddie and Bailey played with the barbies...........yes, that is ALL barbie stuff. Definately time to go through the barbies. Michael and Pratt were so busy playing, I could barely get them to look at me for this picture. Boys and Girls are soooo different--girls have the sorority pose at age 4, and boys just want to be left alone....forget the pictures!!!!!!! It was a very fun day.

Another silly day.....

It's always something at our house!! The first pic is from this afternoon, I walked into the girls room and Michael was in the American Girl doll canoe. He was just rowing away and having so much fun. (Sorry the pic is dark) Then after dinner the girls were playing gymnastics with KDs friend Kaitlyn. Michael was very quiet, and we weren't sure where he was, until he shot out of the girls room in one of their gymnastics suits. At least he put it on backwards so you can't see all the sparkles!!!!!!! We are thinking maybe a gold in the Olympics someday?????!!!!!!

First Picture-Progress!!!!!!

Well, I finally had time to figure out how to post a picture. This was the only picture that turned out from our trip to Ft. Worth. The kids love taking baths at Uncle Matt/Aunt Mika's house! They put bubbles in, turn the jets on, and before you can blink-they're covered!!!
Today was a lazy day. Michael was so tired from his sleep over at Pratts, and Maddie went with Marty to work this morning, so they both took long naps. KD didn't have time for a nap because her social calendar was full. She is staying with a friend tonight, and while she has been gone she has had three other friends call wanting to make plans.
Oh, Marty and I went with some friends to the show last night and saw the new Batman movie. It is great, we loved it-go see it!!!!!!!!

We're Home

We're home from Ft. Worth, and what a long trip!! We had a good time and I'll try to post the one photo I took--having trouble with my camera!!! I forget how hard it is to take all three kids by myself on a trip. They're not old enough to stay in the car by themselves, or go into the store to potty by themselves, so I think we usually stop in everytown to eat, drink and go potty. While we were on our trip Mika and I took the kids school shopping--Oh the drama of picking out spirals and pencils. What ever happened to the prepackage school supplies so everyone had the same!! Then the clothes, how many times do you have to explain to an 8 and 6 year old that you cannot wear backless tops to school with flipflops all year round. The best part of the trip-FOR EVERYONE-was when the shopping was finished and we were swimming in Matt and Mika's pool. They are great swimmers, so it was fun floating around with our adult beverage relaxing while the kids played Marco Polo!!! The trip was great and we look forward to going again when Marty and his two extra hands are available to go!!!!!!!!

Giving It a Try!!!!!!

Well I am going to try this whole blogging thing.........that's just it-I WILL TRY!! I am just starting this blog and I can already tell you that I will not be blogging the next couple days. The kids and I are off the see Mika before school starts. Once school starts we will not be going anywhere but to and from school, dance, gymnastics, soccer, and any new activities the kids are ready to take on!!!!!!!!!! Maybe when I get back I will have figured out how to post pics of our trip------------I know the suspense is going to keep all of you waiting!!!!!!!!! Until then, be patient while I learn how to use this blog.
