Sledding

We all survived the blizzard!! It was a long day of being locked up on Friday. We were all lazy and did absolutely nothing.........because there was nothing to do. It was fun just hanging out telling stories, and snuggling to stay warm!! Then Saturday rolled around, and the work began. Everyone was out and about putting cattle in and assessing the damaged. We actually faired very well :) The kids played in the snow all morning waiting for Marty to take them sledding! By the time he arrived most of the snow had melted. I love this first picture.........just shows how much they enjoyed sledding!! You can tell how fast the snow was melting in this photo. I'd like you all to notice the creek running in the photo..............okay, it's not a creek really, it's the cities drainage ditch!!!!
Wish you could have heard Michael in this photo. He had just fell off and he was wet, cold, and mad!!!!

It was a great weekend!! We had alot of family time, alot of fun, and FINALLY some moisture!!

Sorting Cattle

Finally, we are on spring break and the kids are able to help their Dad!! The love to go with him and ride. This morning Maddie went with Marty, so I took them lunch so KD and Michael could go for awhile. While we were there, we manage to get my grandmother to pose for a picture in front of the UT truck. Yes, my Dad is a Longhorn, and grandma is OU all the way. She even took a ride in the truck!!!!!!!
Here everyone is taking a break for lunch.

Michael looked on while the cattle loaded into the truck. I thought this was a great picture of him and it even has the wind generators in the back.
KD and Maddie enjoyed riding the horse around!!!!!
And here they are, the little helpers, with their sorting sticks.

2009 Ski Trip

Well, our ski trip was a little different this year. We took all three kids. We had a great time, and the kids are great at skiing!!!!!!!! There was a lot of snow at the cabin, and they hadn't cleared the road. It was interesting getting all our clothes, groceries, and kids to the cabin. But we managed, and by the time we left were really good at it. Oh, and on the last day, they did manage to clear the road!!!!! Here the kids are ready after a day of skiing!! The girls are able to go to the top and ski down with Marty and I, so it was a lot of fun.

Here is one of the girls waiting on us to go down the bunny slope............we had Michael with us on this run!!!!! And one of Marty and Michael. Michael was so cute in all his gear, and tiny boots!!!!!!!!!!!!

Marty & Michael on the chair lift......all he wanted to do was ride the ride!!
This is one of the pictures going up to the cabin. We put the luggage and groceries on the sled. The girls walked, and Michael rode on my shoulders. The snow was up to our waists. Once the snowmobilers clear a path we could walk without sinking. By the end of the trip we had a good path and let the kids ride on the sled while we pulled them. Not a situation I would recommend, but we made the best of it!!!!!!!!! Since this trip Dad and Mom have purchased snowmobiles to get in and out on!!!!!!!!!!! YEAHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!

Stock Show pictures............

Yes, I know I am way behind! Maybe I can catch up since it is now SPRING BREAK.........even though it feels like WINTER BREAK!!!!!! The stock show went well, both girls learned alot. KD kept track of her expenses and got to see exactly how much she will make after she pays her parents back. She did so well, I might need to ask her for a loan. She ended up placing seventh in her class, but her lamb was the second highest selling that night.......people are so generous!!
Here is a pic. of her at the sale.....with that smile, she knew exactly what she was doing!
Here are Maddie & KD with their lambs. Maddie will show next year.
And here are all 3 kids at the sale. Right after this photo we had to say goodbye.......KD had a tough time. She still says she will cry if she looks at the pictures I took. She is such a lover!!
The animals were a great experience, and I know they will want to do it all over next year!!
